Raise Your Confidence!

Assalamualaikum w.b.t
peace be upon you.

Nowadays, the world are more challenging than ever before and it is getting more and more challenging. There are many challengers in this world and the number are increasing rapidly. People all around the globe faces new challenges everyday. Due to these challenges, sometimes it gives fear to the people and might lower the people self confidence and self esteem.

Thus, many people who called themselves expert were born and was said can RAISE the confidence of the people. Many bizarre methods were created but o me, the most bizarre method of all would be in India that I just read about 15minutes ago. It shocked me so much that came to my mind that I must write it in this blog and share it with all.

On April 22, Utusan Malaysia reported that a school in India had forced student to walk on a hot coal and broken glasses. Reason? It was reported that it to raise the confidence of the student. The school taht is located in West India had done it to approximate 190 students, 110 walking on hot coal and the other 80 on broken glasses. One of the representative states that at first the objective is to raise confidence of the student by removing their fear. It was done 190 pupil aged 9-14 and no one had ever gotten hurt.

A question comes to my mind. What if suddenly the student get hurt? What will happen then? Walking on a coal is similar in determining whether a person is guilty or not as well as a kind of punishment for criminals in England in the 12th Century. These children are on 9-14 and they have to endure the same thing as criminals in the 12th century were facing. To add icing to the cake, the school claim it was a way to increase CONFIDENCE!

To me this is ridiculous and it must be put to a stop before anything happen to these young people who have bright future ahead of them.

Lets Holiday!

With the name of Allah the Most Beneficent and Most Merciful,

Finally I managed to finish my first year. Last semester I took less subject than the first so that I can relax a bit. Relax?! Huhu. What a surprise did I get. The second semester even with lesser subject was more tiring than the first semester. More assignments to do and more researches to made and more activities to be done. In my last week before the final examination, I got 4 tests, 1 final, and 3 assignments. Huh, it was very hectic and tiring and I was forced to slept at 4a.m every day.

Now, the semester is finally over. No tests, no exams for the next month. It is holiday time! When talking about holiday, many will thing holiday is a time to relax. Ask any people on the street regarding the word HOLIDAY and lets see what they tell you. I am no magician but i can guarantee majority of the answer will be the time to relax and to let our mind of from this world. I won't say it is wrong but I have my own unique and contradict opinion regarding the definition of the term HOLIDAY.

HOLIDAY is the day where everybody in this world is waiting for. Students, parents and even bosses cannot wait for holiday. RELAX RELAX RELAX. Well, to me, holiday it is not a time to relax. It a time for us to PREPARE. Prepare for what? Well, to prepare for the next battle of life. It is the time for us to think about ourselves. What had we done in the past? How can we improve our self? What are our weaknesses. This is the time for us to improve. Get our self straight and settle things up. People always say "if you have a problem that go and take a HOLIDAY or a break". Think about it, why do people take break when having problems? Can RELAX solve the problem. No. It cannot solve any problem but it only gives us peace. With peace it will give us time to think rationally. Think back what is the problem and what is the solution.

There are also many misunderstanding that are happening around the world right now. For example, religion and culture. Not many understands about different religion, culture and races and tends to create disrespect and hatred. Well, in certain part it can be seen as the media to be blame. Media these days rather than trying to promote harmony to the world are now more prone to promote hatred. They are telling lie stories and people like us who are lack of knowledge believe in this source and tends ton develop the feeling of hatred and disrespect. Who knows, one day it might cause World War Three just because of the misunderstanding and confusion created by the media.

To solve these problems, it is better for us to broaden our mind with traveling. Lets see the world with our own eyes and learn the culture of others. This way, we will be more humble and will learn how to respect others. We will also earn their respect not to mention gaining knowledge regarding each others culture. You might be surprise how the world is totally different from what you absorb from the media.

There are more to HOLIDAYS than just relaxing and doing nothing. Spend the HOLIDAYS wisely and be surprise with how much you can gain in HOLIDAYS then in the normal daily lives routine.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!

IIUM with LOVE

Assalamualaikum.
With the name of Allah the Most Beneficent and Most Merciful

It has been a long time i wrote anything in this. maybe I dont have much to talk about. The last time I wrote anything here was when I started my second semester in IIUM. Now, finally finished my first year, a few days ago. Things had changed a lot in just one year. Miracles do happen.

When I first started my Foundation Studies 2 years back, I never had always put high expectation on myself. Inspired by a message by my dad, I really tried all out and really did my best. I have class everyday from 8-5 and sometimes until six and barely have anytime for myself. I have meeting almost every night and only study at 12-3. At mt foundation level, I only managed to get 3.3 even with my best effort. I also did not manage to spend much time with my friends and even met some enemies.

Syaitan started to play with my mind. Giving and imputing me with negative thinking. Saying to me that I will never succeed. Degree life will be much harder. If you cannot even survive 3.6 in Foundation, what about in Gombak. Impossible!

Huh. Ive beginning to think negatively what will happen to me in Gombak. I started to feel afraid. Started to live in fear and think too much about many things. What a very bad first impression to a new life. Yet, after 1year I have been there, my first impression was absolutely wrong. My life in Gombak is better than thought. I am getting more friends and even better grades. the people that used to hate me and I used to hate are now my friends. Not just a friend but also close buddies. I even get the chance to know other people from other countries as well as learning to respect others more.

After 1year of being a degree student in Ahmad Ibrahim Kuliyyah Of Laws (AIKOL) I had began to think about life differently. I had become more mature than I used to be and had more friends than I could ever think of. Life could not get any better. IIUM had changed me. Maybe not just me but also others. Some might change to the positive side but others, might be going backwards. It is up to us choose the path to follow. IIUM only provides the platform for us to walk on but it is us that choose the road.

It has only been a year and I still have a long way to go. 3years more before I will be moving to the real world. These 3years might look to be a very long period but actually, it will end with a blink of an eye. Enjoy every moment of these 3 years so that one day I can look back and never regret it.
